69 Prayers to Hope
Hello there! If you’re reading this then you probably found a pretty sweet candle around somewhere and followed the QR code. Hello! Hope you like the candle!
I made this project for two reasons: one, it was an excuse to make stupid doodles on the subject of hope, and, two, I wanted to make a point about the nature of hope. While hope is something we can feel, it’s also a verb—something that we share and project out into the world. It’s the actions of others that allow hope to grow. We have the choice to be a small light (get it?) in the world, if we choose.
In that spirit I invite you, oh stranger with a candle, to spread hope. The world is hard right now, and we could all use something to feel hopeful about. If you want suggestions, I have three queer non-profits listed below. These are organizations that are doing good work in my community. If you have the ability to support them know that your small act of kindness may go a long way to giving another stranger a bit more hope in this world.
Regardless, I hope you light this candle and smile. May it bring you peace.
